Matrix VS. Plato
Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave” and “The Matrix” are nearly identical in plot. The only differences are the presentation and time. Both stories share the exact same message, that there is more to everything than what meets your eye. They both use symbols to represent what is going on. “The Matrix” is set in post-apocalyptic times on Earth and “The Allegory of the Cave” is set in a cave during pre-modern times, but
know how powerful they are as individuals. Plato was trying to tell his readers that our minds are powerful but there is something even more powerful to be found. This theme has proven that it is timeless due to the fact that people are still greatly influenced by what he had to say. People are still writing things everyday calling for people to be in charge of themselves, and not allowing themselves to be oppressed.
