Like most people, I thought commercial advertising did not influence me, but then I got cable. I started to notice that my four year old daughter would shout out “I want that”, “Mommy, can I have that”, and “Mommy, you have to get me that”. I am convinced that these companies spend millions to examine consumer product preferences and target us more efficiently.
