Michelangelo Buonarroti is arguably one of the most inspired creators in the history of art and the most potent force in the Italian High Renaissance. …in general. He is possibly the greatest artist ever to live. Along with David he has created many other masterpieces worthy of his name. Among them are: the Pietà, the Sistine Chapel ceiling, the tomb of Julius II, Last Judgment, and St. Peter’s Basilica. He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest influences in the history of art. He now rests in peace in a fine monument in the church of Santa Croce.
