Mythology: Roman and Greek Gods and Goddesses

In Greek mythology, there was a god or goddess for practically every natural event or phenomenon. All of the gods lived on Mount Olympus. When the Romans borrowed many of the gods from the Greeks, many gods were the same with only different names. For instance, Zeus became Jupiter and Poseidon became Neptune. Two popular epics by Homer named the Odyssey and the Iliad are stories written hundreds of years ago that encompass almost all of the gods and are some of the most in depth descriptions of the events that possibly happened thousands of years ago (“Mythology, Greek”).
