On August 6, 1945, an American B-29 dropped an atomic, (or A-) bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, costing 100s of 1000s of lives. I come here today to inform you about how nuclear weapons came about, what they do, and consequential losses that occurred because of them. …existence. 18,409 homes were destroyed, totaling 148, 793 people dead and many more later from radioactive poisoning. 55 years later, today, warheads and other nuclear weapons are stored in abandoned, underground silos, which are supposed to be safe, but are not. Some are even damaged and have radioactive waste leaking out of them. This shows that the world still isn’t rid of nuclear threat.
