One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Themes
Ken Kesey’s novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, is a very interesting yet disturbing account of the human psyche. It is the story of several men living in an insane asylum and the journey of one unique man ironically trapped in this society. Randle McMurphy is an extremely dimensional character and this is shown through the books themes and illustration of life in an abnormal mind. In this novel, many themes exist
the most unlikely places and can end up being the most unlikely people such as McMurphy and the Chief. I would recommend this novel to other readers. Overall, I think One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest has a good story and can teach people many things. Not just things about mental institutions, evil nurses, rebellion, and wayward souls, but important values and morals of human life and learning to cope with what life brings.
