The moon has fascinated mankind for many thousands of years. It has assumed a role in legend and lore alike, being worshiped as a god, and feared as a demon. Indeed, from the days when man first looked skyward, he knew the moon served some important purpose, one he could not yet comprehend. …a middle road that would ultimately result in the impact theory, today’s leading contender for the true origins of the moon. But science is still young, and by no means is the impact theory the tell-all truth of the moon’s origins. Rather, there are still many questions waiting to be answered, and it might not be long before we see a revised version of the impact theory… or a new one all together.
