Philip Larkin The talented British writer, Philip Larkin, is not only remembered for being a novelist or critic, but most importantly, a poet. Along with many other poets in the 1950’s, Larkin was part of “The Movement” (Poetry Exhibits). Time magazine speaks of a young boy who was killed in an explosion in Palestine (Rees72). He had a mother and father who is left with pain and suffering (Rees 73). Life is such a valuable thing, and people take it for granted. Like the boy in Palestine or the men in The Explosion, no one should feel that they are invincible and should appreciate every breath they take not knowing it could be their last.
