The parent could then place the child in “timeout” or restrict the child from playing outside, seeing their friends, talking on the phone, watching television, playing video games, or any activity they enjoy doing. When the child looses their privilege to do those things, they are likely to think twice about doing the thing that got those privileges taken away from them in the first place.
