Pledge of Alliegence Unconstitutional?
Pledge of Allegiance open-ended Is the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional? That is a big subject in which they had to take to court to get a final decision. The reason the pledge is questioned to be unconstitutional is because of the statement “Under God”. “Under God” is bold and very religiously associated phrase commonly used with the Christian religion. The original writer of the Pledge of Allegiance originally wrote “one nation, indivisible…” without religiously referring
to change. I would strongly disagree because, overtime time things need to change to keep up with what is going on in the world. There are so many religions that making every person say “Under God” is a total slap of disrespect. In conclusion, I personally believe in God but the same country that allows me to do so, is suppose to allow others religious freedom and make them say “Under God” is outright unconstitutional.
