Many presidents have had an influential affect on America. In comparing Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Reagan it is important to first note their general public appeals and the need for their leadership at each specific time in history. After a support speech for presidential nominee Barry Goldwater, the overwhelming response sealed his fate as a leader and darling of the conservative party. Reagan had an extraordinary ability to communicate deeply felt values, which he prized very highly. He convinced the American people to listen to his administration and policies. Some historians even call Reagan “The Great Communicator”.
