Privacy vs. Justice

The events of September 11th came as a great shock to everyone, save the terrorists who were responsible for what occurred that morning. However, it was a series of events that could not be stopped – a situation that suddenly arose from the crisp, early morning air over New York and forever changed people all over the world. A great many people lost family members, friends, and loved ones that morning – however, a question even greater …

…which we make decisions about the direction in which this country should be guided. If we are not more careful, it will (somewhat ironically) be transformed into the same sort of place that our attackers hail from – a place where Orwellian invasions of privacy are overlooked or regarded as part of the routine, a place where the achievements that all the people of America before us worked so hard to accomplish would be in vain.
