Prohibition had a lasting effect on the nation, that is true, but like many of my classmates I do not feel that the changes that the Volstead Act made to our country were positive ones. …were tried. I think that after our government questioned our ethics is when we began to question our leaders and their ability. Banning alcohol has never worked in our history, and I am convinced that it will not work in our future either. The idea of banning immoral activity may be a good one, but just because an idea is well in thought, does not mean that the idea will be well as an action.
