Queen Victoria
Queen Victoria is often considered England’s most noble queen. Born at Kensington Palace, London, on May 24th 1819, Princess Alexandrina Victoria was an only child of Edward, the Duke of Kent and Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg. Victoria's father died when she was just eight months old. She became the heiress-apparent when her uncle George IV died in 1830. When her uncle William IV (George IV's brother) died without any children in 1837, she became Queen of
in the Frogmore Royal Mausoleum, which she had built for their graves. Above the Mausoleum door are inscribed Victoria's words: 'farewell best beloved, here at last I shall rest with thee, with thee in Christ I shall rise again'. This time, in Queen Victoria’s time in power is known as the Victorian age and can be considered a tribute to this unique woman of British history. Her influence remains memorable long after this date.
