…in them were accurate. Minorities experienced the prejudice that was in the short stories everyday. Just like in the short stories minorities’ state of mind were hurt and putdown. However, minorities found new ways to speak out and that was in the course of literature. Through short stories, poems, essays, and novels African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian American and Native Americans found innovative ways to speak out against injustice, causing the outstanding literature presented today.
