Response poem to Marge Piercy's "Barbie Doll"

Conforming to society Brings one fear and doubt Am I really good enough? Do I stand a chance? …struggles with the conformation of society. In the poem she does not committ suicide she is simply having plastic surgury. The casket is the operating table, and the undertaker is her surgeon. In this poem the character could not accept her looks and had dealt with them for too long. Trying everything in her power to change herself. When nothing would work she conformed and molded herself into the image that society perceives as perfect.
