Soda or “pop” has become more and more a part of our culture. It was once a considered a treat but is now more like a beverage to go with every meal, and all times in between. Now it would be hard to find a household in the U.S. that doesn’t have any cola in the refrigerator. To achieve this the companies must appeal to all people, they do this through different advertising
people. The addition of the word “classic” to the name of Coke is also meant to have this sense of always being there. Coca-Cola and Mountain Dew are trying to sell essentially the same products. They use very different strategies to get this done though. They have a completely different target market. As culture changes these target markets will also change. The advertisements follow the trend of culture, or is it the other way around.
