Sam The Sudden

By examining the novel ‘Sam the Sudden’ we can see how P.G Wodehouse uses interesting and unusual word choice to develop a novel that has a strong effect on the reader. The novel is about Sam, who moves from New York to England to get a new job, with Mr Wrenn, working for a newspaper. …has no attachment to his home, perhaps as a child would. The second shows us he depends on Mr Wrenn like a child would. We also are shown his disregard for manners when he laughs and finally his unstable character – being disruptive one moment and quite naïve the next. In looking at these we can see that Wodehouse is obviously comparing Sam to child and this affects that read by drawing sympathy and understanding.
