…has no attachment to his home, perhaps as a child would. The second shows us he depends on Mr Wrenn like a child would. We also are shown his disregard for manners when he laughs and finally his unstable character – being disruptive one moment and quite naïve the next. In looking at these we can see that Wodehouse is obviously comparing Sam to child and this affects that read by drawing sympathy and understanding.
