Sarah Vaughn - Jazz

On March 27, 1924, Sarah Louis Vaughn was born in Newark, New Jersey. She had a very modest upbringing; Vaughn’s father was a carpenter, her mother a laundress. Nonetheless, music had always been a part of her life since the very beginning. Sarah’s mother was an active choir member and pianist at their local baptist church.
