School Ties

School Ties, a movie released in 1992, is set in the 1940’s – 1950’s in America. It’s based around a protestant based school called St Matthews, and throughout the movie several events occur which raise the theme of religious hatred. …he honors. This is shown when he accepts that they voted him guilty and goes to see the headmaster. The movie portrays the various ideas of values placed upon individuals, and the students at the school are placed under a great deal of pressure. Eventually they all give into this pressure, Charlie cheating in the test, and then they honor their family traditions of hating Jews and vote David guilty – because he was a Jew.
