Should the U.S. go to War

The United States of America was created through warfare. Since then, the U.S. has tried to stay non-militaristic. George Washington once said that a new nation should not entangle itself in alliances, because they could result in wars. In spite of this, as our nation developed, we found ourselves in WWI, WWII, The Cold War, The Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. As technology advances, the number of casualties has been brought down, but …

…war makes us uncertain of victory as a result of the Vietnam War. However, technology has increased rapidly over the decades. Now, America is definitely capable of attacking Iraq quickly and turning out a victory. Our government, as horrible as it may seem, values the lives of U.S. citizens’ more than unstable and temporary peace with Iraq. The UN believes in appeasement, but America does not; therefore, it must fight when it feels threatened.
