Should the federal government eliminate affirmative action?
Affirmative action is a term that initiates many debates in the United States. Citizens tend to be divided in views with respect to this issue. Many feel that racial and gender discriminations (among others) still exist and pose grave problems within the labor market. Others, however, believe that as America begins the new millennium, racial prejudice and other forms of discrimination are less salient within the occupational structure and therefore affirmative action is no longer
by studying hard in school to further educate themselves, however, due to various prejudices that still exist they may not be admitted into various schools or universities. This would them prevent them from entering the section in the labor market that would allow for the betterment of their social class standings. This is why affirmative action can not be completely eradicated but rather it should be reshaped and redistributed in various areas of American society.
