…envy is the realization that time is not real. It would be wonderful if it were true, which it very well may be. I also love the control of spirit shown in the novel. The part were Siddhartha pushes outward with his soul and becomes other animals is fascinating. It reminds me of a lyric from one of ZZ Top’s greatest hits. “I’m shuffling through the Texas sands but my heads in Mississippi.”
