In the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, the family is broken up due to the desires of both Blanche DuBois and Stanley Kowalski. However, Stella, Stanleys wife, also contributes to the unfaithfulness of her husband. …breakup. The hidden desires of Blanche and Stanley eventually could not be bottled up any more, and that hurt the family most of all. Blanche was no longer able to hide the fact that she was envious of her sister and it was her downfall, which later landed her in the insane asylum. Everyone had a role in the demise of the DuBois/Kowalski family therefore blame can not solely be placed upon one person.
