Study Abroad Initiations

There are many initiations / rites of passages associated with being in a foreign country on a study abroad trip. Some of these initiations may not be apparent to the student until after they have taken place. There are exchange programs available in almost every country in the world. In these programs there are certain objectives or purposes for having the programs in a particular place. Students who participate in these programs gain new perspectives on …

…from the things they are used to experiencing. They will more likely than not go through a number of initiations that will mold them into well rounded individuals. Their eyes will be opened to new perspectives, meet new friends, learn to communicate efficiently, and participate in a new way of life. Usually, foreign exchange students’ experiences and new open-minded views will travel with them through their future initiations and for the rest of their lives
