…people are willing to do for money all show that people are remembering something similar to the pleasure they are expecting to get after they complete this event and put up with whatever adversity they have to in anticipation of their sought after rewards. I agree that their still might be a difference between the lasting impact of pleasure and pain on the body and mind, but it’s not radically different as Burke proposes.
