Tennesse Williams Use of life experiences in his works.

…his writing. Many of his characters are silhouettes of his own family. His perception and observations of the world around him also had an affect on his writing. Growing up in the south certainly gave him an engaging view of many ordeals. The maturity of the South, peoples struggle to stay vibrant during the melancholy Great Depression were all used by Tennesse Williams to show the many faces of cruelty in his time and place.
