…life and is now a few steps ahead. The color purple in the novel is a small device to show a bit of Celie’s emotions and thoughts through the novel. Although it is the title, you don’t see it over used in the book. With it, Alice Walker establishes a firm sense of what Celie is thinking and feeling and I don’t think she could use any other color to describe it.
