One of the destroyed embryos in this case could have been used in studies to help cure beta thalassemia, or better the lives of people living with the disease. There are multiple other alternatives, the destruction of human embryos should not be one of them. The proposed solution to this ethical dilemma is that the other embryos should not be destroyed, and instead be used in a positive manner.
