The Development of Jack in
In the novel "Lord of the Flies" Jack is the character that goes through the most change of anyone throughout the novel. He begins the story as an arrogant choir boy, who we actually see cry when he is not elected leader of the island. Jack's physical appearance is described as, "Inside the floating cloak he was tall, thin and bony; his hair was red beneath the black cap. His face was crumpled and freckled
had not arrived when he did. Jack began as an ordinary boy like everyone else. He was the head of the choir and had good leadership qualities. However, his jealousy and hatred for Ralph and Piggy turned his good to bad. Jack had the potential to put in a huge impact on saving the boys from their island. Unfortunately, Jack along with his comrade Roger, only turned out to be the ultimate example of evil.
