The Hoplite Revolution and Greek Warfare

One of the social issues around 356 BC- 400 BC was warfare in Ancient Greece. For the Greeks war was more than tactics, strategy and blood; it was linked to almost every aspect other social organization. Greeks warfare displayed the honesty of two armies facing each other head on in broad daylight. The soldiers were called hoplites. …be their trophy. But most important is, after the battle both sides would make truce. The looser of the battle would ask the winner if they are allowed to move their dead people of the battlefield, so they could burry them. Of course the winners would say yes. A ransom was also made before the battle. After the battle was over the winner takes whatever belongs to them and the battle ends with a truce.
