…Hamlet does a poor job of it, in contrast to Laertes and Fortinbras, who act quickly and decisively, he over thinks his task and is slow to complete it. When Claudius dies is it more due to events that he himself set in motion than by Hamlet’s determination. All of the action in the play stems from the ghost scene. If it were removed the play would be either very dull or very confusing.
