The Jungle

…not have had the same impact on the readers if the scenes with the meat packaging factories had not been included. Although the public was stirred by the horrendous stories of the poor, the scenes that hit the stomach were the elements that made the book so popular. And even though Sinclair did not intend for the book to be so nauseating, I am sure that he is glad with the good that it caused.
