The Lion King I believe the author has presented significant ideas about the story of The Lion King but I don’t agree with her suggestions of what certain colors or characters represent. Lazarus seems to focus on the social and political aspects of this harmless and simple movie. Her accusation of Disney’s attempt at a metaphor of society is not accurate. She talks about the hyenas and how ominous and gloomy their habitat …

…the movie, but in doing so fails to enjoy it. I believe that Lazarus is seeking too much meaning out of this simple animation. The Lion King’s main purpose is to entertain and not fix all the things in the world right. It’s crazy to say Disney movies are corrupting young minds. Children don’t understand the basis and meanings of gays, blacks, and srutiny, they just want to have fun and laugh.
