The Match

For every person, there is a match. There is a person who completes him or her in ways they never imagined. Some people search their entire life for their match and are never able to find them. Others find their match and know instantly. Still others find their match, but do not realize until years later. Those who find their match are very lucky and happy people. …and held me until the sun went down. We never spoke after that day. He went on to finish high school. I moved to Florida to have my son and finish school. I do not speak of him to anyone, but every now and then, I will think of what we had and what I lost by running away. No matter what happens in my life, I will always believe that he was my match.
