<Tab/>The Middle Passage was that leg of the slave triangle that brought the human cargo from West Africa to North America, South America, and the Caribbean. The term Middle Passage was used to describe the triangular route of trade that brought Africans to America and rum and sugar cane to Europe. This term was also used because it was middle leg of a three-part voyage. The first leg of voyage
to steer them back to their homeland. One moment was when a slave named Joseph Cinque in 1839 gathered up more slaves and killed there captain and took over the ship that was called Amistad. They tried o get away but later was captured and tried for murder. Many whites argued that they where black and they did not have rights and should be killed. But they were given a trial and acquitted of all charges.
