The Moment of Fate
The Moment of Fate The most freighting moment of my life took place on a typical sunny high school day, when I received a phone call at the front office, that my mother was in the hospital, and on the verge of death from a stoke. I rushed to the office phone, and received information from my Uncle Ronny, that my mother was in the I.C.U. at the nearby Kaiser Permanente. Tears were
cry. It was the moment of truth. The doctor returned to speak with my father on the results of the medication. The results could be she’s recovering and doing well, she’s no longer with us, or she became a vegetable. My Father walked over to me and sighed with relief, “your Mother is going to make it.” I thanked God, hugged my family, and realized I would still be blessed with a Mother.
