I knew I was dead. I watched as the cloud of black rose petals slowly floated towards the street below, disappearing into the shadows. That was the sign of the champion that I had used as a role model throughout my life, but now the Paladin is initiating a duel with me. …The Paladin heard it though, stopping in his tracks, still facing the other direction. A large crack was heard. A bullet pierced the back of his trench coat and travelled through the skull of the enemy lying on the ground next to me. I looked at the black rose, still lying on the ground next to the body. The Paladin said in a deep monotonous voice, ‘He has paid’, and continued walking into the shadows.
