Many authors use literary devices in order to enhance their writing. For example, Sophoclean Irony is a literary device in which the reader thinks something will turn out well, but it turns out badly instead. …tragedy. This happens throughout the story as greed overtakes Kino and everyone around him. The moral of this story is: Don’t let greed overtake your life. This could have be prevented by not allowing yourself to get caught up in an obsession for money.
