0630 formation: this is the one we all have been waiting for. Rumor has it that the commander is going to send a squad into action. We were all hungry for battle and are prepared for anything. The entire platoon stayed up all night talking about getting a taste of combat and putting wagers on what squad would be the lucky 12. …War veteran of the United States Military. If you know a veteran, give him or her thanks for fighting for this great country. I’m not saying that all veterans have been through John P. Wilson’s situation, but you never know, and I hope that you never have to experience it. I experienced it, as you read in the above story, and I’m glad that it was only a training exercise for me.
