France for the most part was not winning any major battles until the year 1415; 78 years after the war had already started in 1337. Although Joan’s presence in the army was short lived, she helped revive the nation on the brink of losing a very important war. Joan unified a country, split up over social differences, a very key factor in the turnaround of the war. Though it all, France owes an enormous amount to Joan for her efforts, faith and profound leadership qualities.
