“Two Kinds” is about a little girl named Ni Kan and her mother’s pursuit to try and make her famous. Ni Kan’s family moved from China to the United States in search for a better life. Her mother has so many expectations for her young daughter. They go through many exercises to reveal what her daughter’s talents are. …late for practice. Ni Kan was tired of playing and refused to practice. Her mother became furious with her daughter. This attitude of her mother affected Ni Kan for the rest of her life. She did not put much effort and fell short of her mother’s expectation. Ni Kan relized that she would probley never be what her mother expected of her. That was okay with her, she found peace with just being herself.
