American voter turnout in the past most recent presidential election, in my opinion, was embarrassing. The less than fifty percent of adults that turned out made Americans look like they just do not care. There are many factors that contribute to voter turnout. …to get out and actually vote. A way in which a few states have increased their voter turnout is through more relaxed registration laws. In Idaho, Maine, and Minnesota they allow people to register at their polling place on election day. This has increased the voter turnout in those states. A lot of places in the South have problems with voter turnout because they make the locations difficult for people to find or get to.
