In "Whuthering Heights", Emily Bronte creates a story that contains "The Facts Of Life". While selfishness creates a backdrop for the story, while revenge and love carry the novel. Emily tells a story of a love affair that takes place through multiple generations. The themes of revenge and love are portrayed primarily through the character Heathcliff. Heathcliff seeks revenge when he is betrayed, and although vengeful in his younger years, it is not until his
chaos results. This impeded love serves as the catalyst throughout the novel, bringing with it tragedy and revenge. Bibliography Brontë, Emily. "Wuthering Heights". Penguin Popular Classics, 1994.
