Whereas the mother’s dress is very nice and conservative, Nora’s “is flowered more lavishly than anything my mother owns.”(Pg.12) It is also sleeveless, something the narrator’s mother would never wear. It is described as “some sort of sheer floating crepe”(Pg.12)
