…in the eye of the beholder, in as much as there is debate as to the level of democratisation within the system, but in my view as long as the fundamental tenants of ‘negative’ freedom are upheld and there is constant exploration of and opportunity for further democratisation, as I believe the volume of academic opinion suggests, then I believe that liberal democracy, as long as it remains dynamic, achieves most of its main aims.
