William Faulkner

William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Mississippi on September 25, 1897. He was actually born with the name William Falkner but added the "u" later. His father worked on railroads owned by his grandfather. The railroad was originally purchased by Faulkner’s great-grandfather, William C. Falkner. At the peak of his career, William Faulkner died on July 6, 1962 in Byhalia, Mississippi of a heart attack. Even after death, his works and his memory grew more respected with each generation.
