Literature is often viewed as a window to other worlds and alternate realities. It has also been referred to as a ‘window to the past’, which is a far more accurate quote than the speaker may have realized. No wonder, then, that literature is considered the most important tool that humanity possesses, and a basic requirement for proper functions in day-to-day life. While violence may assert superiority in the short term, any belief instilled with a weapon can be undone with a few words. For this reason, then, the pen most certainly is mightier than any sword.
