Lockwood is not a reliable narrator for a few reasons. He misinterprets things often, he’s quick to make assumptions, and he’s overly social, which makes people become unwilling to talk or listen to him for a long period of time, unless the person is his servant Nelly Dean. He is very curious, which is not necessarily a bad trait, but instead of finding out the information he wants to know, he just assumes it from his observations. His assumptions and his persistent need to socialize with people, especially those who are somewhat antisocial, is what makes him an unreliable narrator.
