“I came, I saw, I conquered” (Andrews). This was spoken by one of the greatest leaders to ever rule Rome. Julius Caesar was born on July 13, 102 B.C. to one of the original patrician families of Rome. He was educated by a tutor, Marcus Antonius Gnipho, whom provided Julius with an excellent education. Julius married Cornelia, the daughter of the Consul Lucius Cornelius Cinna. Later in life he was titled the dictator for life and
a king. According to Ancient Roman law, anyone who plotted to become a king could be killed without a trial. A group of senators lead by chief conspirators Brutus and Cassius acted on this law. On March 15, 44 B.C. as Caesar entered the Senate, he was stabbed to death. Julius Caesar went, he saw and he conquered. He brought Rome order and peace. Julius was truly one of the greatest leaders to ever rule Rome.
